Occasionally I like to cook up a large slow cooker full of Low Carb Pork Ribs and Chicken Wings. I do most of the cooking in the slow cooker then I finish the Pork Ribs and Chicken Wings in the oven.
The long slow cooking makes the meat very tender while the time in the oven crisps the skin on the chicken wings and makes a crust on the outside of the pork ribs.
I used a store bought BBQ sauce but you could easily substitute any other ready made BBQ sauce or you could make this recipe using your own sauce.
Slow Cooker Pork Ribs and Chicken Wings Recipe
1 kg Chicken Wings
1.4kg Pork Ribs
2 tbsp Reggae Sauce – or any other BBQ sauce
1 tbsp minced ginger
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tbsp soy sauce
For the glaze
2 tbsps Reggae Sauce
To make the sauce for the slow cooker ribs and chicken mix together the Reggae sauce, ginger, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, tomato ketchup and soy sauce.
Place the pork ribs and chicken wings in the slow cooker. Cover with the sauce mixture and mix thoroughly.
Set the slow cooker on low and cook for 6 hours.
After this time take the ribs and wings out of the slow cooker and place on a baking tray, and brush over the reggea sauce. You can at this point store the ribs and wings in the fridge (after cooling) until you are ready to finish off the cooking.
Cook at 170C for about 20-30 minutes until well colored and crispy, turning once.
